Coulees in Snow

Columbia at Lake Entiat

Flying over central Washington, the morning’s cloud cover recedes to reveal snow covered ridges giving way to the depths of numerous coulees. In a seemingly random network of finely articulated vein-like ravines, the path of least resistance is defined and the Columbia River makes its way through the landscape, pausing to form Lake Entiat (southwest of the Grand Coulee Dam).
