Folds of Earth Along the Basin’s Edge

North of Rock SpringsNorth of Rock Springs, Wyoming, the sepia toned plateau drops off in folds of rocky draperies striped in sedimentary layers with tight wrinkled balls of fringe until it meets the basin below. There the dry creek beds mark the path of erosion following the water’s path to the low point where it slowly evaporated and was absorbed into the earth.
