The Mississippi Delta sprawls out into the Gulf of Mexico adding silty browns and greens to the blue of the gulf. Tankers make their way up the highway of the Mississippi to New Orleans and buildings dot the extended coastline to support inbound commerce.
The Sierra Nevadas trace the border between California and Nevada. Rounding the Sierras south of Yosemite provides a contrasting view between the colorful desert to the east and the lush valley to the west.
Owens River winds and stalls east of the Sierra Nevadas and wanders into the desert through the Owens River Gorge. Western Nevada along the California border.
